Something for me?

The workshops are suitable for people who have never had any contact with the dance, or those who already practice or study forró or other dances for many years. People who have never experienced an instrument like the triangle to musicians and music college students who want to learn a new rhythm and techniques to improve your musical performance.

Forró introduction / Beginners
For those who wants to start!

Dance it's not only about learning the steps…
How you hold the posture,
How you hold your partner,
How to lead and follow,
Feel the rhythm...

All this is the basis that give you the skills to easily learn the steps.
Come and join us!

Forró intermediate
Would you like to take your skills a step further?
The
teachers will work out figures that are most used in the forró.

Some of the teachers will choose to practice turns and movements for the arms.
Others will prefer to work on musicality, legs and hip movements.
All is to improve your forró dance.

Forró advanced
In advanced classes, more complex sequences will be practiced, together with turns and Itaúnas style. Also fast forró.

Samba de Gafieira (All levels)
We will practice the samba no pe, the swing to get into the traditional samba de gafieira. This workshop is to improve the improvisation in the dance and give the basis of this Brazilian dance with a couple. We will practice movements like puladinho, pica pau and some turns for the ladies.

Frevo, Coco and Ciranda
Some popular dances that originate in northeastern Brazil and originated from Forró. For forrozeiros it is nice to know the origins of forró music and dance and traditional celebrations in the northeast of Brazil, so you can understand the rhythms and movements that constitute the forró.

Percussion
The percussion classes feature the rhythms that contribute to the formation of Forró. For example: Coco, Xaxado, Baião, Xote, Galope, Marchinha, Carimbó.

Teachers teach techniques of playing the main instruments of forró: Triangle, Tambourine (Pandeiro) and Zabumba.
