
Teachers
Carlos André was born in Santos, São Paulo. He has over twelve years of experience teaching dance classes including forró. He began teaching beginners and advanced classes at 'Kiss Club' in London in addition to private individual lessons.
André plays a central role in the forró scene in London, organizing great forró concerts, secret forró nights and recently directing and organizing the first Forró Congress in London. He has also recently been awarded the Best UK Forró teacher 2010 and 2011!


Born in Paris, Marion started dancing at the age of 12, studying modern jazz, tap and musical comedy. At 18 years, she learned Salsa and other Latin dances and in 2003 she started to give Salsa lessons. Soon after, she discovered forró. After completing her studies in 2006, Marion began a partnership with Marinho Braz in Brazil, the famous 'Forró Universitário' dancer from Rio de Janeiro. In 2006 she created the association 'Le P'tit Bal Perdu', and started to organize dance lessons and events, like the annual happening Forró Festival 'Ai Que Bom' in Paris. Today Marion teaches at the 'Kim Kan School of Dance' and organizes programs in France, Europe and Brazil to diffuse the culture of forró as widely as possible.

Juliana Braga was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. At the age of ten, Juliana started her education in modern dance, afro-Brazilian and folklore dance at Belo Horizonte's first dance school for modern dance, called 'Transforma'. At the aged fifteen, was invited to teach at Transforma. And since then Juliana has worked as a teacher, dancer and choreographer.
In 1989 'Transforma' was invited for a tour in Europe. In the Netherlands, Juliana was recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science as an art's educator and settled in Amsterdam.From 1990 on Juliana has given many workshops and has created many choreographies for cultural organizations all across the Netherlands. Among her clients are 'CliniClowns', 'Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam' and 'Buitenkunst'.Invited by the the Brazilian Ministry for Culture, Juliana spent 5 years in Brazil creating and organizing a special project with slums's children (favelas) with amazing results!In 2007, Juliana returned to the Netherlands and began her own dancing school in the centre of Amsterdam: 'Espaço Cultural'. Teaching forró, samba solo and samba de gafieira, as well as musicality and body awareness to children, she also organizes many cultural dance parties and gives workshops and demonstrations throughout the country.

Terra was born in Minas Gerais and grew up in São Paulo. At the age of 15, he discovered the mid-90s strongly growing forró scene in São Paulo, began to learn the dance and frequented the booming Casas de forró of São Paulo. This new interpretation and development of forró – the urbanization of the traditional Forró Pé-de-Serra – is what stamps Terra's dance style and also what he transmits to his pupils. Terra is co-founder and chief executive of the Brazilian cultural association Verein Brasilianischer Kulturen Stuttgart e.V. and of Europe's greatest forró festival Forró de Domingo Festival. Rudolfo was born in Olinda situated in the northwestern Brazilian state of Pernambuco. His Passion for forró was inflamed already in early childhood years when he participated in the so called 'quadrilhas' at the traditional forró parties: 'Festas Juninas', which always take place in the month of June. At the age of 14h his interest in the forró became stronger and he learned the original forró styles from the Brazil's northeast. When he was 19 years old, his ambition grew to also learn 'Forró Universitário' and he began to mix the different forró styles. Thereby he created his own dance style. In 2010 Rudolfo moved to Cologne, where he founded the group 'Forró de Colônia', together with his very talented dance partner Veronika.

Pablo, born in Minas Gerais (Brazil), grew up closely connected to the world of music and dance. He began with ballroom dancing such as salsa, samba, gafieira, and at his the age of 14’s, he discovered the Forró Universitário. He participated in forró classes in Belo Horizonte and at the age of 16 started his career as a forró teacher. At the age of 20, Pablo moved to Portugal, where the dance was still unknown, becoming the pioneer of forró in this country, particularly in Lisbon as a co-founder of the Portuguese Forró Association (APF). Today, Pablo is a renowned forró teacher, musician, composer and vocalist.

Cacau Moutinho Lilie - FR
Cacau has been dancing forró since he was a kid. Native of Bahia (Serinha) he decided to devote himself entirely to music after he graduated from university. He played in several bands like Percatilha de Couro, Xote Civilizado and Rockxotesambareggaenogalope as a percussionnist (zabumba).
In France, he gets fully involved with the brazil afro funk collective and plays in 3 bands : Forro pitu, samba de bamba & choco brazileiro.
His great experience as a dancer in Brazil leads him to give forró classes, workshops and shows, and therefore participate in developing forró in Lille, with the help of his partner Lydie, who’s also an artist of the collective.

Ceumar Coelho Amsterdam - NL
Ceumar is a Brazilian singer/songwriter from Sao Paulo living in Amsterdam. Besides singing she plays guitar and percussion. After 4 great cd's she just released her 5th album in collaboration with a great jazztrio from Amsterdam.
During the I am forrozeiro festival Ceumar will give lessons in singing traditional Brazilian songs (ciranda, carimbo, forró and maracatu).
